ESTUDIO DE LA VIOLENCIA EN EL NOVIAZGO EN JÓVENES UNIVERSITARIOS/AS: CRONICIDAD, SEVERIDAD Y MUTUALIDAD DE LAS CONDUCTAS VIOLENTAS

Resumen
El principal objetivo de este estudio consistió en el análisis de la cronicidad de las conductas violentas en jóvenes universitarios. El segundo objetivo consintió en estudiar los patrones de las tácticas usadas para manejar el conflicto en los jóvenes universitarios de la muestra, a través del análisis de la severidad y la mutualidad de las conductas agresivas. En este estudio transversal participaron 1081 estudiantes universitarios/as que completaron las Escalas Revisadas de Tácticas para Conflictos (CTS2). Los resultados ponen de manifiesto que existen diferencias significativas en cronicidad en la escala de abuso psicológico menor, tanto en la forma de perpetración como en la forma de victimización. Las razones de las ventajas (odds ratios), de forma consistente con resultados previos, avalan la idea de que las mujeres informan de una mayor perpetración de violencia física y de una menor perpetración y mayor victimización de coerción sexual.

Abstract
The main goal of this study was to analyse the chronicity of violent behaviour in university students. A second aim of the study was to explore the patterns of the tactics used by the university students in the sample to handle conflict, via the analysis of the severity and mutuality of the aggressive behaviours. In this cross-sectional study, 1081 university students completed the Revised Conflict Tactics Scales (CTS2). There are significant differences for the chronicity scores on minor psychological abuse, for the perpetration and the victimisation forms. The odds ratios, consistently with previous findings, support the idea that females report a higher level of perpetration for physical abuse and a higher victimisation and lower perpetration for sexual coercion.
