EVALUACIÓN DE LA CALIDAD DE VIDA EN UNA MUESTRA DE PERSONAS CON ENFERMEDAD MENTAL INCAPACITADAS JUDICIALMENTEE

Resumen
La ratificación por España de la Convención de Nueva York, requerirá realizar ciertos ajustes en el sistema de apoyo que el ordenamiento jurídico español regula mediante las instituciones de tutela y curatela. Con la finalidad de conocer la eficacia de las medidas de apoyo que actualmente está prestando y mejorar sus planes de intervención, Fundación Manantial, entidad que ejerce la tutela de personas con trastorno mental, ha utilizado la Escala GENCALT que tiene por finalidad identificar el perfil de calidad de vida de una persona para la realización de planes individualizados de apoyo y proporcionar una medida fiable para la supervisión de los progresos y los resultados de los planes. Utilizando a sus profesionales como evaluadores, ha evaluado a 86 personas. La conclusión principal obtenida es que la prestación en el tiempo de una medida de apoyo, permite que las personas con trastorno mental cuya capacidad se ha visto revisada judicialmente, tengan una apreciable mejora en su calidad de vida.

Abstract
The ratification by the Kingdom of Spain of the New York convention will require some adjustments in the protection system that is regulated by the Spanish law through the institutions of tutelage and guardianship. With the aim of evaluating the effectiveness of the assisting procedures now in practice and to improve its intervention strategies, the Fundación Manantial, an entity dedicated to the tutelage of persons with mental illness, has employed the GENCALT scale, which aims to identify a person’s of quality of life profile in order to set up individual plans of support and to provide a dependable standard for the supervision of the improvements and outcome of these plans. Using its staff as evaluators, the Fundación Manantial has appraised 86 people. The main conclusion thus obtained is that the implementation over time of assistance measures will allow people with mental illness, whose legal capacity has been judicially reviewed, to attain a notable increase in their quality of life.
